Design consultation differs from online interior design in that online interior design provides a specific set of deliverables such as detailed room layouts, elevation drawings, and purchasing recommendations and the design consultation is a live conversation discussing high-level ideas for how to improve your home. Design consultations are perfect for those looking to get the hard questions answered and then using that information to achieve their design goals.
-
You can expect to feel like you have a real action plan for moving forward with your room. While the ideas discussed during your consultation session are high-level, they will also help you have a better sense of where you are headed design-wise and how to proceed. All ideas will be discussed and will be adapted to fit your personal decorating budget.
Your designer may include suggestions on room layout and furniture placement, paint/wall treatments, lighting, cabinetry and built-ins, fixtures, finishes, construction and remodeling ideas, and styling suggestions.
-
Design consultations are video-based meetings, meaning a Zoom link will be sent to you in advance. The meeting will be held in split-screen so that you and our Principal Designer, Heather Picinich, can see each other and “walk through” your space in live time. If you don’t have technical expertise for using Zoom, no worries – we’ll help you get set up in advance.
-
Yes! Once you have purchased your design consultation you will receive a design package from Heather Picinich Interiors that details the process and provides you with information on what and how to send us any pictures or questions in advance. We want to make the most of your time and will come prepared to the meeting with lots of ideas based on any materials you send us.
-
Not necessarily. The design consultation will provide high-level ideas and suggestions for your home. Heather may recommend suggestions on room layout and furniture placement, paint/wall treatments, lighting, cabinetry and built-ins, fixtures, finishes, construction and remodeling ideas, and styling suggestions. Any specific purchasing recommendations are made through our online interior design service, and of course, our full-service interior design offering.
