Canopy Dreams
When I was a little girl I totally wished for a canopy bed, of course the ones in the ’70s weren’t quite as hip as the ones today! To make up for my dashed dreams I see a pattern in my design work… canopies every
where!
One of my favorite rooms! This canopy was made to fit a sloped ceiling. We used green silk fabric embroidered with fuchsia polka dots, lined it with a ribbon border and added matching tassels. This will still look great when the crib is changed out for a big girl bed.
This one I did with Room for Change a while back and still love the effect this canopy creates. We had a custom cornice made out of crown molding and draped the fabric behind the headboard. The small blue fringe detail really completed the look.
Serena & Lily fabrics are the perfect choice for this girl’s room. Simple pink and white can be stylish too.
This canopy actually has a covered cornice with coordinating fabrics draped to frame the bed. Notice the different fabric from the inside
and outside of the canopy.
Soo easy, yet adorable. You can even pull this one off with a nice pair of bedsheets and a dowel rod. I like
the shabby chic feel of this bedding.
Some sheers, some trim and ribbon and ooh la la!
